Jo-Ann is a corporate finance executive with over 32 years of commercial experience, building, leading and advising corporations on financial management, restructures, international expansion, tax strategies, acquisitions and risk management for Woodside, Whitebark Energy and Norwest Energy.

As a Chartered Accountant and a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors Jo-Ann commenced her career with Horwath & Horwath within the graduate program and then moved to a management position at Deloitte’s. Moving to Commerce Jo-Ann then gained 26 years’ experience within the Oil and Gas industry, both onshore and offshore in domestic and international jurisdictions.

Jo-Ann is an experienced Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary and Non-executive Director with extensive experience in accounting and reporting, internal audit, risk management and governance for ASX listed companies. Jo-Ann also has specialised expertise with Joint Venture management, accounting and reporting, joint venture operations, commercial agreements and audit.

With strong broad commercial and business skills, Jo-Ann brings a strong discipline of financial management and a track record of improved financial performance, heightened productivity and enhanced internal controls.

Having commenced her career as an accounts receivable officer, Jo studied part time over many years and in 1996 attained her Bachelor of Business Degree in Accounting. Over the years, Jo progressed steadily working in accounts, bookkeeping and payroll. Once qualified Jo advanced to Assistant Accountant, then accountant.

Four years with Serco as Finance Manager broadened Jo’s experience as a senior accountant, particularly the financial control and staff management aspects.

Jo then moved to management accounting within Oil & Gas (Woodside) and mining (BHP Billiton Iron Ore). There, she focussed on reporting, budgeting/forecasting, cost control and advising senior management.

One day by chance Jo met Jo-Ann Long a past colleague at Woodside Energy. She accepted a position with Jo-Ann’s business Your CFO and team. Here she has been happy to immerse herself back into Public Company Accounting, again within Oil & Gas.

Jo has a back-to-basics approach and because of the many systems she has used over the years, Jo is an expert with the implementation of systems, simplifying processes, and staff training.

In her spare time, Jo loves to garden, read and listen to music.
